She Said; The movie based on a book with a similar title, unfolding allegations of sexual assault against Harvey Weinstein shattering decades of SILENCE






'She Said' is a biographical drama film that is originally based on the book with the same title, written by Jodi Kantor and Megan Twohey, the journalists from The New York Times which investigated the mogul Harvey Weinstein case and exposed his history of abuse and sexual assault to different women who, ever worked with him 


                                                     
Harvey Weinstein a former American producer guilty of rape in the third degree and a criminal sexual act leading in sentenced to 23 years of imprisonment, after he was first arrested in May 2018, In February 2020 found guilty, and in March 2020 sentenced to imprisonment.

The New York Times and The New Yorker both accused Harvey Weinstein of rape, sexual assault, and sexual abuse, for over 30 years. Over 80 women from the film industry accused Harvey Weinstein of such acts, the allegations were first reported by The New York Times journalists Jodi Kantor and Megan Twohey of sexual misconduct by Weinstein on October 5, 2017, The reported story accused Weinstein of three decades of sexual assault to many actresses, female assistance and employees at Miramax and TWC.

On 10 October 2017, Ronan Farrow a longtime NBC news correspondent further reported an allegation in The New Yorker, about Weinstein sexually assaulting or harassing (Thirteen) 13 women and raping 3. Farrow explained how he wanted to expose this months ago but couldn't because of the implied pressure on NBC, which was denied by MBC news. The New Yorker also published the audio recording from 2015 where Weinstein confessed to groping Gutierrez.

Farrow also reported that Weinstein hired private intelligence agency Kroll and Black Cube along with a private investigator Jack Palladino to spy and influence the three journalists Kantor, Twohey, and Farrow, and Weinstein alleged victims, to prevent the exposure of his sexual misconduct.
Since the initial report of Weinstein's sexual assault, over 80 women's voiced out it, Later on, a group of women alleged victims led by Italian actress Asia Argento, released a list of 100 alleged instances of sexual abuse and 18 rapes by Weinstein, dated from 1980 to 2015.

Asia Argento, actress, and director.
Rosanna Arquette, actress.
Jessica Barth, actress.
Kate Beckinsale, actress.

Madonna, singer-songwriter and actress.

Aishwarya Rai, actress.

The Resurface Of The #MeToo Movement Globally

The #MeToo movement was originally founded by Tarana Burke in 2006. which was created to empathize with women and support them by saying they are not alone in this movement, who are victims of sexual abuse or harassment from all backgrounds, most often, though not always, perpetrated by a male colleague.

Through this movement, empowerment through empathy was enlightened that how common sexual harassment is in the world.

After the allegations of sexual abuse by Harvey Weinstein's exposure In 2017 October, the movement become a viral topic globally as a hashtag on different social media platforms. On 16 October actress Alyssa Milano posted on Twitter ''If all the women who have been sexually harassed or assaulted wrote #MeToo as a status, we might give people a sense of the magnitude of the problem'' which was soon followed by high-profile posts including celebrities like Jennifer Lawrence.

Soon the case becomes an inspiration for many others to raise voices for such influential and powerful people not only in Hollywood but in other fields as well and proved that justice does find its way to one another. The movement becomes a platform for awareness and speaking of such disturbing matters 

She Said: The Movie Preview 

The movie is a biographical drama that covers the events of the Harvey Weinstein case, from the book written by Jodi Kantor and Megan Twohey. The movie will be a co-production between Annapurna Pictures and Plan B Entertainment. the premiere of the movie was on October 13th, 2022 at the 60th New York Film Festival.

As the movie is based on the book of the same name, it is detailed how the two journalists Jodi and Megan investigate the whole case and expose Harvey Weinstein's sexual misconduct using different methods and processes. 
The trailer of the movie which came out on July 14th, 2022, shows the discomfort and difficulties that they have to go through during the whole case and how difficult it was to make the victims speak for such a sensitive topic, and how the predator remains unpunished because of the victims keeping quiet and not being able to stand up for themselves without being judged and humiliated.

The movie would premiere on 18th November in theaters only
