Adele's First Weekend Of " Weekends With" In Las Vegas Residency: From Wait to Tears & Walking Dead

Adele "Weekend With Adele" "Las Vegas"

The much anticipated two-hour opening performance of "Weekends With Adele" at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace was accompanied by overwhelming tears, apologies, screaming fans and everything we have hoped for, and more. Not only that but also a shout-out to Céline Dion,

“I’ve got a lot to tell you. It’s a bloody massive week for me. It is the Walking Dead finale on Sunday — can you believe that?.. Do we have any Walking Dead fans here?.. I’ve been obsessed with The Walking Dead for over a decade and on Sunday it is all coming to an end and obviously, it’s opening night and the Grammys and the World Cup.”

Her words were true to their core as Adele had a historic week already, receiving seven GRAMMY nominations before she even hit the stage at The Colosseum at precisely 8:15 p.m. on Friday. However, she acknowledged on stage that Sunday's main event for her will be “The Walking Dead” season finale.

However, this only served as the beginning of the time to remember throughout the singer's 20-song set and apologies for "Weekends With Adele" being abruptly canceled in January of last year because it "wasn't ready," as she said in a video to her fans earlier this year. No one in the audience appeared particularly interested in that any longer, nearly ten months to the day afterward. Fans have waited for this for far too long and now that it was live none of that mattered.

Adele On Las Vegas Stage

The Colosseum's audience of more than 4,000 people was greeted with a white piano on stage surrounded by an illuminated A-frame. Adele arrived on stage with her pianist Eric wearing a black gown with a star cluster illuminating and radiating the light that almost matched the energy,

Adele’s best quality is her humbleness and down-to-earth attitude. The realness and relativity in the tone were evident when the concert started with HELLO’s music and the first words that left her mouth were literally “I am shitting myself”. The Concert began with the 180-degree floor-to-ceiling displays turned on with four gigantic projected images of Adele as the booming chorus began, giving the audience a close-up view of the singer.

The second one was “Easy On Me” after HELLO finished with gratitude and tears and Adele nervously said, “Hopefully, over time my nerves will disappear” And they surely did, the nervousness was soon replaced with adrenaline and excitement same as the audience Her plan was to as she said “This show, this one that we are all at now, this show grows and I wanted to start it small. I want it to be all about me and that is why I came on and did ‘Hello’ just me and him. I want to make it feel like for you what it’s like in the studio for me. What I do when I first start writing a song is I go and I sit at a piano and I just fuck around until something feels good. Then, I just start making a noise, and eventually a lot of the songs that you have hopefully heard materialize. It might be a little wobbly tonight because my nerves are out of control.”

Adele On Las Vegas

She navigated the audience several times and sat at a perch on the front of the stage that was constructed just for her. Do you like my posh socks? She even boasted at one point, revealing that she was only wearing some socks instead of some fancy shoes. These relatable instances appeared to be devoured by the crowd. The love that radiates from her is always reciprocated by the audience.

She expressed regret over the show's postponement once more, telling a supporter, Her exact words being “It took nine months to get here, I’m fucking sorry.” When the band and backup vocalists were introduced during "I Drink Wine," the intimate setup of the singer and her piano player was changed as a chandelier of hundreds of glasses fell and the A-frame broadened.

About 30 minutes into "Water Under the Bridge," Adele shared that the previous week she had been "sick as a dog". Fans were damn grateful as this day wouldn’t have been possible and as she said "I'm simply going to fall off the face of the Earth," ,  if she didn’t get to be on stage for the “Las Vegas” show. The show also included "Rumor Has It" and "Skyfall," with 24 string players placed in three rows of eight players, in the style of Hollywood Squares, behind her.

At the break of the concert, the audience was still entertained by the prerecorded songs of Adele’s “Cry Your Heart Out” With the beautiful effect and setting with flames the stage never seem to not pass the aesthetic check. From “ Set Fire to the Rain” to “Hold On” to “When We Were Young”. Adele either on or off stage just remained festive, to say the least.

During the performance just like when she started the concert she took every opportunity to clear any and every rumor as she said about the rumors about her moving. “There was so much shit written about me since and I tell you it is absolutely, completely made up and there have been rumors that I moved hotels and I was moving theaters and all this, and never once did [Caesars] ask any questions. They’ve been amazing, so thank you for having me. It was the worst feeling I ever had, but it was the best decision I ever made.”

During "Someone Like You" and "Rolling in the Deep," the lights went up and the cameras turned, reflecting the audience onto the screens. On the latter song, a thick confetti storm reduced the stage's view while the piano appeared to break apart and float briefly. For the finale, "Love Is a Game,"  images of hearts on the screens projected uplifting messages. Making room for the one final message to the fan “The Beginning”, So this is clear that this concert is a shout-out to the new beginning and Adele exited the concert. The emotions, goosebumps, and nostalgia were so overwhelming that one can only try to stop the tears. Let’s just end it with that the wait was so worth it.
